Color is something that does not come naturally to me. When making cards I find a palette that works and tend to stick with it and variations of it. I love the confident way Dawn McVey uses color – I would never think to use the combinations she does; the schemes she chooses for her cards always look inspired, fresh, and well composed.
This card came out of my desire move outside of colors I find comfortable. I used two shades of red, and one pink to represent colors side by side on a color wheel, along with kraft and gold. In the first picture you can see a bit of shimmer in the gold ink – those triangles are from PTI’s Ombre Builders Stamp Set. The flowers are PTI’s Bigger Blooms, and the sentiment is Altenew’s Label Love.
